We made an experiment to examine the extent of discrimination on the housing market in major German cities. Thousands of requests were sent and analysed from fictional profiles in a semi-automated way. In order to to set up a robust methodology, we collaborated with social scientists. The analysis was described in detail both on the website and separately on GitHub. The story initiated a debate about structural discrimination on the housing market and won several prices, e.g. the Philip Meyer Award (2nd place).
