Thousands are dying in Germany every year due to heat and its consequences for humans. Climate change and urbanization are worsening the situation. We combined satellite data from different NASA-Missions in order to assess the urban heat island effect in various cities and enable the users to explore the surface temperatures in Germany during an average summer day.
