The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2019 was an attempt to improve the data protection of European citizens. We analyzed the privacy statements of online services like Whatsapp and Tiktok in terms of length and readability. It turned out that most of them are barely understandable – even for high school graduates.
